Inception Door Configuration
Overview
Inception supports up to 128 doors total, with 4 doors manageable directly from the on-board controller hardware using a combination of OSDP/SIFER or Wiegand interfaces.
Technical Details
On-board Door Capacity
- RS485 LAN Reader Port: Supports up to 8 Readers (e.g., Entry/Exit for 4 doors).
- Supports SIFER Readers or 3rd Party OSDP readers.
- Wiegand Support: Supported via optional OSDP<>Wiegand Converters. Up to 8 converters can be used on-board.
Expansion Door Capacity
- LAN Expansion: Reach the 128-door limit using expansion modules.
- Wireless Doors: Supports Aperio wireless locks via the ILAM module (v6.0+).
Configuration / Programming
Door Logic
- Reader Mapping: Readers are mapped to doors via the web interface.
- Lock Control: Use the 4 on-board relays for local locks. For expanded doors, use the relays on the SLAM/ILAM.
- Monitoring: 8 on-board universal inputs can be configured for Door Reeds, Tongue Sense, REX, and REN.
Cabling and Topology
- Reader Port: Max total cabling length is 1000m.
- LAN Topology: Supports Star and Daisy-chain configurations.
- Total LAN Cabling: Without LAN Isolators, should not exceed 2000 metres and/or 64 Modules.
- Segment Limit: No module to be more than 1.5km (1500m) from the Control Module or a LAN Isolator.
- Termination: The Inception RS485 LAN is self-terminating.
- LCD Terminals: Elite LCD Terminals MUST NOT be terminated (remove the “Term” link).
- Earthing: Ensure 0V (Common) and DET- have NO local connection to Earth at remote modules. System Ground (0V) is connected to Mains Earth via the Controller only.
