Inovonics RF Module
Overview
The Inovonics™ RF Expander (P/N: 996008) is an “F” Type RS485 LAN based module that provides an interface for Inovonics™ EchoStream wireless security transmitters such as detectors, universal transmitters, and user pendants. Each module can monitor up to 32 wireless detection zones, with user pendants limited only by the user quantity available in the Controller.

Configuration / Programming
LAN Wiring
Connects directly to the RS485 LAN via LAN+, 0V, A, and B terminals. If powered from an external battery-backed power supply, connect the +12V from the external supply to LAN+ instead of the LAN power. Never connect positive (+) connections from two different power sources together.
DIP Switch Settings
The Module number is set using DIP switches 1 to 7 in binary.
- The Module number equals
n + 1, wherenis the binary number set on DIP switches 1 to 7. - Switch 8 must remain OFF.
Transmitter Registration
- Integriti: Enrolled as a Zone Input (Intruder detection, smoke, universal transmitters) or a User Remote (Pendants). Registered via the Controller ‘Default Modules’ options (Default F01) or by searching/learning the RF Sensor ID in ‘Radio Expander’ programming.
- Inception: Registered using the 8-digit Decimal Serial Number found on the device. Zone Inputs are assigned a ‘Device Type’ (e.g., Detector, Detector 2 Alarm, Repeater) to determine how the input is monitored.
Troubleshooting
LED Diagnostics
- SYS LED ON: Module is starting up.
- SYS LED FLASHING: Module is powered and firmware is running OK.
- FAULT LED ON: LAN Fault.
- FAULT LED FLASHING: Hardware or Firmware problem (depending on L1/L2 states).
- L5 (RF RX): Valid Wireless message received.
LAN Problems (FAULT LED ON)
- L1 (RX) ON, L2 (TX) ON: Module is un-addressed. Check LAN 0V, A & B connections.
- L1 (RX) OFF, L2 (TX) ON: Module type unknown. Firmware upgrade required to Control Module.
- L1 (RX) Flash, L2 (TX) ON: Duplicate Module. This module number is already in use.
- L1 (RX) Flash, L2 (TX) Flash: Module number selected is too big for Control Module RAM size or Memory Configuration. Select a lower module number.
- L1 (RX) ON, L2 (TX) OFF: Too many modules on the Network for Control Module RAM size.
- L1 (RX) ON, L2 (TX) Flash: Module is disabled.
