Integriti Operator Guide
Overview
Daily operator tasks, user management, and system monitoring are typically performed using Integriti GateKeeper. GateKeeper provides a simplified interface focused on viewing the state of areas, controlling doors, and managing users without exposing deep system configuration options.
Login and Servers
Logging In
To launch System Designer or GateKeeper, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Inner Range and click the application icon.
The Login window contains:
- Software Version: Identifies the installed software version.
- Authentication Method: Default is “Use These Login Credentials” (username + password). If configured for Current Windows User, you can login without entering credentials (requires additional licensing).
- Integriti Server settings: Do not change these unless instructed by your installer.
Integriti Servers
Three core Windows services must be running for the software to operate. Their status is shown by colour-coded icons in the system tray:
| Icon State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green dot | Started |
| Yellow/Amber | Starting or Stopping |
| Red dot | Stopped |
The three servers are:
- Integriti Application Server: Central logic hub for database transactions and business rules.
- Integriti Controller Server: Manages real-time communication with ISC/IAC hardware.
- Integriti Integration Server: Facilitates third-party system communication.
If servers are not started, right-click the server icon and select Start. If servers are not visible, you may be on a client workstation or the application was not launched with administrator privileges.
Software Interface
Ribbon
The Ribbon organises functions into tabs by category (Home, Intruder, Access Control, etc.). Each tab is divided into groups containing icons for specific items.
Quick Access Toolbar
Right-click any icon and select Add to Quick Access Toolbar to save commonly used items for quick access without navigating the Ribbon.
Editor Window Toolbar
When editing an item (user, area, door), the Editor Window toolbar provides:
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Save | Save current item |
| Undo | Revert last change since editor opened |
| First / Previous / Next / Last | Navigate between items in the list |
| Item Number | Jump to a specific item by number |
| Create New | Create a new blank item |
| Delete | Remove selected item |
| Show Cross References | View related system items |
| Show Item History | View the full change history of the item |
| Item Specific Commands | Context-sensitive commands for the current item type |
Auto Save: Click the Save button dropdown and select Auto Save to enable automatic saving when navigating between items. The Save icon turns green when active.
Daily Operator Tasks
User Management
Operators can create, modify, and delete users from the Users list.
- Creating Users: Users can be added from scratch or duplicated from an existing user (which copies permissions and settings, but requires a new PIN and card).
- Primary Permission Group: Defines the user’s core role and access rights.
- Extra Permissions: Additional doors or areas assigned independently of the Primary Permission Group.
Credential Assignment
Cards and PINs are assigned via the User Editor window.
- Security PIN: Used to log into keypads. Must be unique.
- Qualify PIN: An alternative PIN used specifically for door access (different from the Security PIN used at keypads). Check with your installer if unsure.
- Direct Entry: Manually entering the card number and assigning the correct Card Template.
- Acquire Card: Using a desktop enrollment station, Wiegand console reader, or extracting the card data from the system’s live Review log after a user swipes an unknown card.
The Acquire Card window provides three methods:
- Review: Scans review messages for card badges at any reader on site. Badge the card, then double-click it in the list.
- Wiegand Console Reader: Uses an enrollment station attached via serial port. Badge the card and double-click the most recent card information.
- SIFER Enrollment Station: For SIFER cards, attaches to a PC via USB for efficient bulk enrollment.
Site Coded Cards can be pre-programmed without badging. Click Enter Number in the Cards section, select the Card Template, and enter the printed card number.
Existing Cards (unallocated from deleted users) can be assigned via the Existing Card button, which opens the Find Entity window showing all available unallocated cards.
User Properties
Key user properties in the User Editor window:
- User Canceled: If flagged, the user’s permissions are disabled and they cannot interact with the system via keypad or card reader.
- Start Date Time: Prevents the user from interacting with the system until the specified date and time.
- Expiry Date Time: Prevents the user from interacting with the system past the specified date and time.
- Combined Use: Start and Expiry dates can be used together for visitors with fixed-duration access (e.g., a contractor attending site between two dates).
Door and Area Control
Door Control
Operators can directly manipulate doors from the Access Control tab.
- Unlock / Lock: Permanently unlocks or locks the door.
- Unlock (Timed): Temporarily unlocks the door for a predefined period before relocking.
- Door Lists: Allows operators to control a defined group of doors simultaneously.
Door Lists
A door list is a collection of doors used for user permissions, door control, or automation. Operators can lock/unlock an entire door list at once.
Creating a Door List:
- Navigate to Home > Door Lists
- Click Add New
- Enter a Name and optionally select a Site
- Select doors from the Not In List section and click Add to assign them
- Use the Unlock / Lock buttons in the Door List Editor to control all doors in the list at once
Area Control
Areas can be armed or disarmed directly from the GateKeeper interface.
- Arm / Disarm: Changes the state of the selected area.
- Arm (24 Hour) / Disarm (24 Hour): Specific control for the 24-hour portion of an area (e.g., smoke detectors or tamper switches).
- Isolate / De-Isolate: Temporarily ignores state changes (alarms) from specific inputs until the area is disarmed and re-armed. Sticky Isolate ignores state changes until manually de-isolated.
Area Lists
An area list is a collection of areas used for user permissions, area control, or automation. Operators can arm/disarm an entire area list at once.
Creating an Area List:
- Navigate to Home > Area Lists
- Click Add New
- Enter a Name and optionally select a Site
- Select areas from the Not In List section and click Add to assign them
- Use the Arm / Disarm buttons in the Area List Editor to control all areas in the list at once
Event Logs and Reporting
Review Panel
The Review Panel is a historical log of all system events.
- Filters: Operators can filter the log by Source (controller/hardware), Message text, Review Type (e.g., User Access, Area Change), and Period (Live or Date Range).
- Exporting: Filtered review logs can be exported as PDF, XLS, or CSV files for external audits.
Built-In Reports
Standardized reports are available for common audit requirements:
- User-Door Activity Report: Shows all access events (granted or denied) for specific users at specific doors over a timeframe.
- User Activity Report: Displays all review events related to selected users (e.g., keypad logins).
- User Reference Report: Displays the specific permissions and access rights assigned to users.
Operators and Operator Types
Operators
Operators are the accounts used to log into System Designer and GateKeeper. Each operator should be linked to a User record.
- Creating Operators: Navigate to Home > Operators in System Designer.
- Linking Users: In the Operator Editor, assign a User from the dropdown. Operators not linked to a user can perform actions as “the system.”
- Active Directory: Operators can use Windows authentication via Active Directory if licensed and configured (see Active Directory Operator Authentication).
Operator Types
Operator Types define what an operator can see and do in the software. Every operator must have an Operator Type assigned.
- Creating: Navigate to Home > Operator Types > Add New.
- Permissions: Configure access to specific tabs, items, and functions. Follow the Principle of Least Privilege.
- Site Restrictions: Limit operators to specific Sites for multi-tenant partitioning.
Custom Fields
Custom Fields allow sites to extend user, door, area, or other entity records with user-defined data fields.
- Creating: Navigate to Home > Custom Fields > Add New. Define the field name, data type, and which entity types it applies to.
- Usage: Custom fields appear as additional properties on entity editor windows. They can be used in Task Actions, automation, and integrations (e.g., KONE elevator user sync).
Alarm Acknowledgement
When configured, critical events generate Alerts that require operator intervention.
- Claiming: An operator must “Claim” an alert to prevent others from actioning it simultaneously.
- Actioning: Claiming an alert opens a Finalize Response window, which may contain specific instructions or require the operator to enter a resolution note.
- Finalizing: Once resolved, the alert is “Finalized” and removed from the active Alert View.
Schematic Maps
Schematic Maps provide a visual representation of the site layout with live status indicators for doors, areas, and other elements.
- Opening: Navigate to Home > Schematic Maps and select a map from the list.
- Toolbar: Provides zoom, pan, and navigation tools.
- Map Elements: Icons representing doors (showing lock/unlock state), areas (armed/disarmed), inputs, and cameras.
- Element Status: Elements display real-time status via colour coding and icons. Click an element for direct control (e.g., unlock a door, view CCTV).
Navigation Panel
The Navigation Panel (visible by default in both System Designer and GateKeeper) displays the system hardware tree:
- Sites and Sub-Sites: Top-level organisational groupings.
- Controllers: Right-click for commands (Connect, Disconnect, Lock LAN, Secure LAN).
- LAN Modules: View the status of ILAMs, SLAMs, expanders, and other LAN-connected hardware.
- Module Status: Colour-coded indicators show online/offline/tamper states for each module.
CCTV Integration
Integriti supports CCTV integration for live viewing and historical playback within the software interface.
- Viewing Live Footage: Right-click a camera in the Navigation Panel or on a Schematic Map and select View Camera.
- Historical Footage: From the Review Panel, right-click an event and select View Associated Footage (requires NVR integration).

Logging On at a Terminal
- Enter your secret PIN Code using digit keys.
- Press OK. Each digit displays as
*. - If an error is made, press Delete to remove the last character, or Cancel/END to restart.
- A greeting may be displayed, followed by the Area Control screen.
- To log off, press END (otherwise auto-logoff occurs after a short time).
Turning Areas OFF (Disarming)
- Log on to the Terminal (PIN + OK).
- The Area Control screen highlights the first controllable Area.
- Select the desired Area using the Scroll Wheel or Up/Down Arrows.
- Press the OFF key. The icon and text colour change to confirm.
Quick Arm/Disarm: Some systems allow a nominated Area to be controlled simply by entering a PIN and pressing OFF or ON — no OK required.
Turning Areas ON (Arming)
- Log on and select an Area that is currently Off.
- Press the ON key.
- The system briefly checks all inputs are sealed. If all pass, the Area turns ON and an Exit Delay countdown begins (typically 30-90 seconds).
- If unsealed inputs are detected, the display shows the unsealed items. Options:
- Rectify the problem and try again.
- Isolate the input (select input, press OK) — isolated inputs auto-de-isolate when the Area is turned OFF.
- Press Cancel to abort.
Deferred Arming
Some Users (e.g., cleaners, guards) may only turn an Area Off for a limited time. When the deferred arming timer is about to expire, a warning timer starts — the Terminal beeps every 2 seconds with a countdown. The User can:
- Turn the Area Off again to restart the timer.
- Turn the Area On to cancel the timer.
24-Hour (Tamper) Control
Users with appropriate authority can turn the 24Hr (Tamper) monitoring Off via the Display Mode toggle (right Function key). When 24Hr monitoring is turned Off, it automatically re-enables when the Area is turned ON. If the Area was already Off, it must be turned ON again to re-enable 24Hr monitoring.
Area Lists
The Display Mode toggle also provides AREA LISTS mode, allowing all Areas in a selected list that the user has permission to control to be turned ON or OFF with a single operation.
Panic Alarm
Press the HELP key three times in a row to activate a Panic Alarm without logging on. The resulting action depends on system programming (local sirens, silent monitoring station report, etc.).
Duress Alarm
If forced to perform operations against your will, enter a special Duress PIN Code instead of your normal PIN when logging on. Consult your installer for details.
Acknowledging Events/Alarms
- When an alarm message is displayed, log on (PIN + OK).
- The display shows specific event details for the affected Area.
- Options:
- OK: Acknowledge the selected message.
- Accept All: Acknowledge all displayed messages.
- Later: Postpone acknowledgement.
- If multiple Areas have events, the next Area’s messages appear until all are acknowledged or postponed.
User Action Control
- From the default display, press Menu then 1 (or highlight “Control” icon and press OK).
- The display shows up to five User Actions (e.g., lighting, heating, pumps).
- Select a User Action and press:
