Overview
The Integriti Mimic Viewer provides a stand-alone, read-only installation of Integriti that connects directly to an Integriti Security Controller (ISC) or Integriti Access Controller (IAC) to display live Schematic Maps. It is a secondary controller connection that only reads state information, allowing the main Integriti Professional software to remain the primary system management point.
Product Key: 996906
Ideal Use Cases
- Multi-site Systems with Centralised Management: If connectivity to the central server is lost, local Mimic Viewer maintains its own controller connection, keeping the mimic panel functional.
- IT Networking Limitations: Allows a non-networked PC to connect directly to a controller, staying logged in without risking network security policies against unattended networked computers.
Note: This guide assumes a reasonable understanding of Integriti Professional software and its components.
Prerequisites
- Integriti Professional V 19.0 or later (main system).
- A separate PC for the Mimic Viewer installation.
- Mimic Viewer Product Key (996906).
- The ISC/IAC controller must be configured to allow a secondary software connection.
- SQL database instance (can be on the same machine).
- Ethernet or serial (UniBus UART) connection path to the controller.
Step-by-Step
What the Mimic Viewer Installs
The Mimic Viewer installation packages the following components:
- Controller Server: Windows service maintaining a read-only connection to the controller.
- Application Server: Windows service handling client requests.
- System Designer: Used for initial setup, controller connection, operator management, and map creation/editing.
- Mimic Viewer: A simplified client application for viewing schematic maps. Supports importing and re-targeting maps.
- Database: Requires its own SQL database instance (typically on the same machine).
Installation
- Run the standard Integriti Professional installer.
- At the Components screen, change the component to “Mimic Viewer” (instead of GateKeeper).
- Proceed through the installer — select an existing SQL instance or create a new one.
- After installation, start the Application and Controller services.
- Launch System Designer and log in. You will be prompted with the software activation wizard.
- Enter the Mimic Viewer product key (996906) and activate (online or manually if no internet).
Enable Secondary Controller Connection (Main System)
- On the main Integriti Professional System Designer, right-click the controller and select Edit.
- Go to the Module Details tab, expand General Behaviour.
- Set “Maximum Software Connections” to at least 2 (to allow the Mimic Viewer connection).
Connect Mimic Viewer to the Controller
- On the Mimic Viewer System Designer, create a new controller connection.
- Ethernet connection if on the same network as the controller, or
- Serial cable via UniBus UART.
- Once connected, all controller items will sync from the controller (may take time depending on connection path).
- Edit the controller connection in the Mimic Viewer System Designer, go to Connection Details > Connectivity, and set “Connection Mode” to Auto (for automatic reconnection).
Create or Import Maps
-
Create: Use System Designer in the Mimic Viewer to create schematic maps normally.
-
Import (recommended): Create maps in the main Integriti Professional system, export to an
.irentitiesfile, then import into the Mimic Viewer.- Updates to maps can be made in the Professional system and re-imported.
- If new/modified presenters are used, export and import those as well.
-
Re-Targeting: Imported maps may reference controllers with different IDs. In the Mimic Viewer client:
- Open the Schematic Maps list.
- Import maps as needed.
- Right-click the imported map and select “Re-Target Map to Controller”.
- Assign each unique controller ID in the map to the local controller. Click OK to update.
Configure Client Layouts
- Open the maps that should be displayed and position them on the desired monitors.
- Use “Update Existing” on the ribbon to save the layout.
- Optionally, open Personal Layouts and uncheck “Save on Exit” to prevent accidental modifications.
Configure Auto-Start / Auto-Login
- At the Mimic Viewer login window, enter the operator credentials.
- Hold down [Left Alt] + [Left Ctrl] and double-click the user image (man icon) to the left of the dialog.
- Click Yes to enable auto-login.
- Choose whether the client should start in full screen mode on auto-login.
- Configure Windows OS to auto-login and power-on after power loss as needed.
The Mimic Viewer will now automatically start with Windows, auto-login, and restore maps with no intervention.
System Limitations
- Only one Mimic Viewer can be connected to an Integriti Controller (but multiple clients can connect to that same Mimic Viewer installation using additional client licenses: 996906CLI).
- The connection is read-only — no programming changes to the controller, and review data cannot be extracted.
- Full screen mode is not persisted in layouts but can be enabled via auto-login.
Verification
- After setup, confirm the Mimic Viewer displays live state changes (e.g., door unlock/lock, area arm/disarm) on schematic maps.
- Disconnect the network between the main server and controller — verify the Mimic Viewer continues to display live states.
- Reboot the Mimic Viewer PC — verify auto-login restores maps without intervention.
- Test map re-targeting with an imported map from the main Professional system.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Resolution |
|---|---|
| Mimic Viewer cannot connect | Verify “Maximum Software Connections” is set to at least 2 on the main system’s controller. Check network/connectivity. |
| Map elements not working after import | Use “Re-Target Map to Controller” to reassign controller IDs from the source system to the local controller. |
| Layout not persisting | Use “Update Existing” or check “Save on Exit” in Personal Layouts. |
| Cannot activate software | Ensure the Mimic Viewer product key (996906) is entered. Use manual activation if no internet. |
| Review not available | This is expected — Mimic Viewer is read-only and cannot extract review events. |
