Honeywell Fire Panel Interface Cable
Overview
The Honeywell Fire Panel Interface Cable (Part 996239) is a specialized serial data cable used to connect an Inner Range Integriti RS232 UniBus UART Port to the Printer output port on a Honeywell BC-200 Fire Panel. This connection is mandatory for the Integriti-Honeywell Fire Panel integration.
Technical Details
Components and Parts
To construct a custom cable, the following parts are required:
- Inner Range Modem Cable (P/N 993027).
- Shielded Data Cable: Minimum 2 conductors @ 7/0.2. Must include a foil shield and 7/0.2 drain wire.
- Maximum Length: 145 metres.
- Connectors: 9-Way Male D connector with matching shell and strain relief.
Short Distance Alternative (Up to 5m)
For installations where the distance is less than 5 metres, a pre-assembled solution can be used:
- Inner Range Modem Interface Cable (P/N 993027).
- DB25 Female to DB9 Male Adapter (e.g., Videk 1058).
- DB9 Null Modem Cable (Male-Female) (e.g., MCM NM9-6MF).
Terminal Pinouts
UART to Fire Panel Mapping
| 10-way UART Header (Socket) | Wire Colour | 9-way Male D Connector (Pin) | Signal |

Configuration / Programming
Firmware Requirements
The integration requires the following minimum firmware versions:
- Integriti Controller: V18.1.6 or later.
- UniBus UART: V1.0.3 or later.
Custom Assembly / Wiring
Assembly should only be performed by a competent technician. The process involves modifying the 25-way D connector end of the 993027 cable:
- Remove the shell and de-solder wires from the 25-way D connector.
- Extend the conductors and drain wire using the shielded data cable.
- Solder to the 9-way Male D connector according to the pinout below.
| 10-way UART Header (Socket) | Wire Colour | 9-way Male D Connector (Pin) | Signal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pin 3 | Black | Pin 3 | Tx / Rx |
| Pin 4 | Yellow | Pin 4 | RTS / CTS |
| Pin 9 | Shield | Pin 5 | Shield (Gnd) |
IMPORTANT
The shield wire must have insulation sleeving fitted to prevent shorts.
