IAC Wiring and Installation

Overview

Proper wiring and earthing are critical for the reliable operation of the IAC. This includes power supply selection, zone input wiring, and reader connections.

Technical Details

Power Supply

  • Smart PSU: Recommended for battery backup and health monitoring.
  • Lock Power: A dedicated input (T11) allows lock power to be sourced from a separate supply.
  • Ancillary Power: Powered from the IAC’s LAN+, RDR+, and DET+ outputs.

Earthing & Wiring Rules

  • 0V to Earth: Ensure “0V” terminals (LAN 0V, DET-, Battery-) are NOT connected to Earth. This prevents Earth Loops and preserves surge protection.
  • Ethernet: Use only Unshielded (UTP) Ethernet cable.

Zone Input Wiring

Uses the Integriti EOL (End-of-Line) Resistor scheme.

  • Standard Scheme: 2k2 / 2k2 (Sealed = 2k2, Alarm = 4k4, Tamper = Open/Short).
  • Legacy Support: Supports 2k2 / 6k8 scheme if firmware is V3.3.4 or later.

Configuration / Programming

  • Swap Alarm and Seal: Must be set to [Y]es for Normally Open alarm contacts.
  • Override EOL: If enabled, REX/REN inputs can use Normally Open button contacts without resistors.

Troubleshooting

  • Earth Loops: Verify no connection between 0V and Earth using a multimeter on Ohms range.
