HID Hybrid Signo Reader
Overview
The HID Hybrid Signo / SIFER reader range is a collaborative hardware solution that provides native support for both HID and Inner Range SIFER credential technologies. These “Hybrid” readers are designed to simplify migration paths for sites currently using HID hardware that wish to transition to the Inner Range SIFER platform, or for sites that require interoperability with a wide range of third-party credentials.
Technical Details
Multi-Format Support
A key selling point of the Hybrid Signo range is its ability to read over 15 different credential technologies in a single device:
- Inner Range SIFER: Native support for 128-bit AES encrypted SIFER-P (EV2/EV3) format.
- HID High Frequency: Seos (Traditional & Mobile), iCLASS SE, iCLASS SR, iCLASS Legacy.
- Other 13.56MHz Smart Cards: MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3, MIFARE Classic, Felica, and CEPAS.
- 125kHz Proximity (Legacy): HID Proximity, Indala Proximity, AWID Proximity, and EM Proximity.
- Mobile Credentials: Supports HID Mobile Access via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and NFC, including Apple Wallet credentials (ECP).

Connectivity
Readers are supplied with an 18-inch (0.5m) pigtail cable. They can be connected to Inner Range host modules (IAC, ILAM, SLAM) using either the traditional Wiegand interface or the more secure RS485 LAN OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol).
Configuration / Programming
- Device Management: Configuration is managed via HID Reader Manager or through OSDP commands from the host controller.
- Security: The readers feature EAL 5+ Certified Secure Element Hardware for high-level protection of cryptographic keys.
