SIFER Smart Card Reader

Overview

An Inner Range designed and manufactured Smart Card reader using RS485 LAN multi-drop communication and 128-bit AES encryption. Provides superior security compared to traditional Wiegand readers. Suitable for narrow door frames or mullions. Part numbers: 994720 (Standard), 994720MF (Multi-format), 994723 (Mobile Access variant).

Physical I/O

  • Mounting: 40(W) x 96(L) x 16.5(D) mm (26mm with spacer). Mounting plate: 91.6(H) x 37.6(W) mm.
  • Tamper: Optical beam.
  • LED/Buzzer: RGB LED and audible buzzer.
  • Mounting Surface: Non-metallic recommended. Use spacer (P/N 999037 or 999033) for metallic surfaces (8mm+ separation).
  • Optional Vandal Resistant Cover: 999034 (Standard), 999035 (with inbuilt spacer).

Power Requirements

  • Voltage: 11V - 14V DC (<500mV ripple). Must be connected to a power-limited circuit.
  • Current: 65mA - 100mA (Typical, depends on version & LED config), 150mA (Max).

Configuration Logic

  • RS485 LAN Address: Automatically assigned by the host module during enrollment.
  • Termination: Not required for multi-drop runs unless at the extreme end of a long LAN (1500m).
