Demo Case Setup
Overview
This guide covers setting up the Inner Range Integriti Demo Case — a self-contained demonstration unit with an IAC Controller, PrismaX Terminal, SIFER reader, and HID reader. The setup process involves downloading the demo database, defaulting the controller, restoring the database, activating the software, and configuring card assignment.
Prerequisites
- Integriti Demo Case with mains power connected
- Latest Integriti software installed (download from Inner Range Technical Portal)
- Inner Range web account for software downloads
- Integriti Product Key (contact your sales representative for a Demonstration Product Key)
- USB lead (supplied) for PC-to-Controller connection
- Demo database file (

Step-by-Step
IMPORTANT: DO NOT CONNECT THE CONTROLLER TO THE SERVER UNTIL ADVISED (Step 6).
1. Download Demo Database
- Download the Demo Database from
www.innerrange.com/democase. - Copy the database file
998070_DEMO_CASE_VXX_X_X_DB.bakto an easily accessible location on your PC.
2. Controller Setup
- Connect the supplied IEC mains power lead to the Demo Case.
- Default the controller via the PrismaX Terminal:
- Log on to the PrismaX Terminal as the installer: 0-1-OK.
- Go to the Firmware menu: MENU - 7 - 5.
- Select SFLASH Drive.
- Press OK to select the Integriti Firmware.
- Press OK to select the Controller IAC.
- Press Y (9) to download.
- Press N (5) to default the database.
- The Controller will default and reset. It can take up to 2 minutes for the controller to come back online and the PrismaX to become responsive.
3. Restore the Demo Database
- Open Integriti System Designer using “Run as Administrator”.
- On the Login Screen, Stop all four services — right-click each service and click Stop.
- Close the Integriti Log On window.
- Open the Integriti Database Configuration tool.
- Click Restore.
- Navigate to the directory containing the downloaded demo database.
- Select
998070_DEMO_CASE_VXX_X_X_DB.bakby ticking the Restore box next to it. - Ensure “Also Restore Review” is NOT selected.
- Click Restore.
- Once the database is restored, close the Database Configuration tool.
- Open Integriti System Designer using “Run as Administrator” again.
- On the Login Screen, Start all four services — right-click each service and click Start.
4. Activating the Integriti Software
- Open Integriti System Designer.
- Log in using the installer credentials:
- User Name: installer
- Password: installer
- When prompted, enter your Integriti Product Key.
- Register the Integriti Software — use Register Online if you have an internet connection.
- Follow the prompts to complete software activation.
5. Retrieve Controller Serial Number
The Controller Serial Number is required for database synchronisation.
- Log on to the PrismaX Terminal as installer: 0-1-OK.
- Go to the Information menu: MENU - 5.
- Press OK to select Head Office.
- Note the displayed Serial No. — this is used in step 6.
- Press END to exit the Terminal.
6. Configuring the Integriti Software
- Open Integriti System Designer.
- Right-click on the IAC controller in the hardware tree and select Edit.
- Go to Connection Details → Basic Details and change the Serial Number to the Serial Number noted from step 5.
- Go to Connection Details → Synchronisation and set the Time Zone to your desired time zone.
- Save the Controller changes.
You can now connect the controller with the supplied USB lead. The server will automatically detect the controller and begin synchronisation.
Note for Virtual Machines: If your Integriti Server runs on a VM, you may need to connect the controller via TCP/IP or SkyTunnel instead of USB.
- Wait until Controller Synchronisation is complete — the controller’s status will change to Online.
Reader Configuration
- Right-click on the IAC controller in the hardware tree, select Edit, go to Module Details and expand Readers.
- Expand Reader 3 and take note of the SIFER serial number.
- Change Reader 3 to (None).
- Expand Reader 1 and change its serial number to what was previously the Reader 3 serial number.
- Save the controller changes.
7. Assigning Access Cards
- Open the Users tab.
- Right-click and Edit a user.
- Click Acquire Card.
- Ensure the Card Acquire method Review is selected.
- Badge a SIFER card on the SIFER reader or PrismaX reader.
- Double-click on the latest card read — this assigns the credential to the user.
- Open Acquire Card again.
- Badge the same card on the HID reader.
- Double-click on the latest card read — the user now has two saved credentials (SIFER + HID).
- Save the user.
For demonstration purposes, assign cards to users with different Primary Permission Groups to showcase varied access levels.
8. Arming the System for Use
- Open the Areas tab.
- Select all areas: Ctrl + A.
- Right-click and set all areas to Arm (24 Hour).
The system is now ready to use.
Verification
- Confirm the controller shows Online status in the Integriti hardware tree.
- Badge a card at the SIFER reader and verify the reader LED responds.
- Badge a card at the HID reader and verify access is granted.
- Check the PrismaX Terminal displays area status.
- Navigate the PrismaX menus to confirm Terminal is responsive.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Resolution |
|---|---|
| Controller not detected after USB connection | Verify USB lead is properly connected. For VMs, use TCP/IP or SkyTunnel. Check Controller Serial Number matches. |
| Database restore fails | Ensure all four Integriti services are stopped before restoring. Do not select “Also Restore Review”. |
| PrismaX unresponsive after default | Wait the full 2 minutes for the controller to reboot. If still unresponsive, power-cycle the Demo Case. |
| Cannot activate software | Verify the Product Key is valid. Ensure internet access for online registration, or use offline registration. |
| Cards not reading | Verify Reader serial numbers are assigned correctly (Reader 1 should have the SIFER serial number). Check Modules list for Reader status. |
