Technical Glossary

Overview

A comprehensive reference of acronyms and technical terms used across the Inner Range Integriti and Inception ecosystems.

Hardware Modules

  • ISC (Integriti Security Controller): The main processing hub for the Integriti platform.
  • IAC (Integriti Access Controller): A specialized Integriti controller optimized for high-density access control (up to 8 doors onboard).
  • ILAM (Intelligent LAN Access Module): An RS485 LAN door expander with local intelligence and credential caching (Integriti only).
  • SLAM (Standard LAN Access Module): A cost-effective RS485 LAN door expander (Primary for Inception, available for Integriti).
  • UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter): A UniBus module used for serial communications with third-party devices.

Communication Protocols

  • RS485 LAN: The proprietary communication bus used to connect expansion modules to Inner Range controllers.
  • OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol): A secure communication protocol for readers and controllers, replacing the legacy Wiegand format.
  • Wiegand: A legacy, non-encrypted communication standard for proximity card readers.
  • UniBus: A local, high-speed expansion bus found on Inner Range controllers and some LAN modules for adding local I/O.

Software Terminology

  • MOC (Map of Content): A wiki page that serves as an index for a specific category or folder.
  • Review: The historical event log stored in the controller or software database.
  • SMA (Software Maintenance Agreement): A subscription-based plan for software updates and technical support.
  • SkyTunnel: Inner Range’s secure cloud service for remote connectivity and alarm reporting without fixed IP addresses.

Access Control Concepts

  • DOTL (Door Open Too Long): An alarm triggered when a door is left open beyond its configured time limit.
  • Anti-Passback: A security feature that prevents a user from “passing back” their card to another person to gain entry.
  • Qualifications: Logic rules (like “During Time Period”) that gate when a user’s permissions are active.
